My Scattered

Thoughts

Whatever topic makes me think.

A  topic would be celebrities. I adore Carrie Underwood and Demi Lovato. They are my two favorite singers in the world. Both women have inspiring stories and both have run into gossip in the media- what celeb wouldn't run into that issue?

Demi for example, was mostly known for her roles on Disney Channel TV shows and movies, before she ran into issues that the world caught hold of. I personally do not know all the details of her troubled years- nor do I want to- but I've come across in my life time many people who critique people based off of what they have done, what they have said, who they have dated and the like that runs out of the mouths of gossipers. My issue is with the world a) exposing celeb secrets and b) judging these human's based off of what the media claims happened in their lives.

I have heard people say "oh I don't like or listen to Miley Cyrus anymore because she doesn't act like Hannah Montana anymore". I get it. I grew up a huge fan of Hannah Montana- both the singer and the show. While I was saddened by Miley's actions, I didn't stop listening to her stunning voice just because she got into some personal troubling nets because I don't believe in defining someones worth based off of her actions. I still listen to Miley Cyrus. I listen to her beginning Hannah Montana albums, her later H.M. albums, her Miley albums while she appeared on Disney channel and I still listen to and enjoy her current music. While some of her choices and actions I do not agree with, Im not going to say- certainly not to the entire world either- that she is less of a human being or any less worthy of recognition of her stunning voice.

CELEBRITIES

VOTING

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure if I get mad or pissed off easy or not, however when it comes to this term's presidential canidates, anything- close to everything- pisses me off immediately. This is my first time voting for the president as when I turned 18, there was no election going on. Now that I can vote for something this meaningful, I'm dumbfounded that we have elected these people to possibly become our next president!

It confuses me that we have choses these people who are both equally corrupt to possibly run our country. When I think of a president, I think of a father or mother figure, someone who supports the children, girls, boys, men and woman of this country. Not someone who goes around and verbally admits they have sexually assaulted someone (and later claims it is just "locker talk"). Not someone who is being accused of paying off a rape victim to keep quiet! When i think of a president, I think of someone who will help eliminate the racial hate and discrimination, someone who is loving towards all human beings- whether or not he/she agrees with their personal choices, they should be supportive and loving towards all human beings!

I am upset with the choices we have laid out for the American voters as to who will become our next voice as an entire country.

The president makes choices about wars- when to join them, when to step back- they re evaluate personal choices like abortion, homosexuality and the like. These controversial topics, I don't think we will ever reach a unanimous idea about these things- we'll never think the same way about them . We need a president who will help decrease poverty, help the children who are family-less to find families. We need a president who will make a difference. Not someone who will continue to do despicable things.

SOCIAL MEDIA COMMENTS

So today I clicked on an album of photos on Facebook. The theme of the photos were "Faith in humanity restored." I enjoyed all the photos, made my heart warm- until I decided to read the comments on each photo. Now, maybe I just shouldn't be reading the comments. Maybe they anger me too much so I should just refrain from putting myself into a situation that would get me so upset. HOWEVER. When I'm looking at a beautiful photo of a man who has a tattoo of a chlocliar implant with his daughter in front of him with a pink implant, my heart swells. I feel like in this current stressful time of presidential debates, finally there is actual hope for humanity. And then I decide to read the comments posted. Some comments were perfectly fine like "awe" or "i would do the same thing", however there is always someone who comments something that pisses others off. In particular, without posting any names what so ever, a commenter posted "wrong" or something of the like. The commenters on that particular comment started asking "what? what is wrong about this photo? that he got a tattoo to make her feel better?" and these types of replies went on and on for about 20 replies. The original commenter replied to all of them saying "you all need jesus" or something similar. I don't understand two to three things. 1. Why do we need to comment NEGATIVE things on photos that are suppose to warm our hearts? 2. Why do we have to REPLY to these comments? Causes a thread of fights?

I saw another photo in the same album today. It was of a white police man helping a young black boy with his tie so he would look nice for school. My immediate thought was, awe see this is how the entire world should act towards each other. "Why can't we be friends" came to my head. Isn't it true though? Why cant we be supportive? I'll save my thoughts on that for another time. I looked at the comments for this photo. This one really got my blood going because one of the comments were "the police then proceeded to choke this black boy." I understand whole heartedly that there are men and woman on the police force who abuse their power and kill innocent people. However. NOT ALL POLICE MEN AND WOMAN ABUSE THEIR POWER! So there isn't a need to assume that every police man and police woman is bad!

Another photo I saw was of a policeman hugging a woman with a caption of "woman caught stealing 7 eggs to feed her family. Instead of arresting her, he brought her a whole cart of groceries" Most of the comments I read were of the same "awe thats awesome" and then someone pointed out the baby on the floor and a jug that resembled a bottle of bleach. And then people who were commenting were freaking out because of this baby and the jug. Instead of focusing on the act of kindness this police man did, who is in a group right now that is being stereotyped into the "abusive of power" police man, they focus on a house hold item in the kitchen where it usually is and a child. I get that it might not be the safest place, however there are two adults in the room, they aren't going to let that child consume bleach.

Secretary of education

THIS IS ME PISSED. Have you ever seen me pissed? Haha. My family has. My friends have. Its bad when i'm pissed off. I'm not only pissed off though, i'm scared. I'm petrified for the future of these children. Put aside whether you are for Trumps presidency or not, and think about the children- your neighbor from two doors down who has ADHD, your niece who has down syndrome, your son who struggles with reading fluency. She wants to cut the funding to help these children. I have a sister who is in third grade. I'm scared for her educational future because of this woman. There have been so many polls and online protests to try to turn the voting around so someone more qualified than her would win! A friend posted something about this- which prompted this post on my blog. "However, our strength cannot run dry! The minds and futures of our children depend on the dedication of the people. Be mindful, Betsy Devos. We will be watching your every move."
